Some weddings, it really feels like you’re sailing with the wind. Everything seems to fit into place perfectly, the weather is faultess, the venue is breathtaking, and the couple have such genuine warmth and love in their hearts for each other that it makes photographing everything an absolute joy. Eloise and Michael’s wedding at Mount Beare Station was exactly this.
This was my first wedding at Mount Beare Station, and to say I was blown away would be an understatement. The ceremony was held in front of a gorgeous lake on a spacious grassy area, plenty of room to accommodate the 120-odd guests, and there were magical nooks and crannies for photos everywhere you looked. Looking down upon the ceremony area was a paddock full of newborn lambs that were just about the most adorable and unexpected wedding addition you could ever hope to see. The winding driveway into the venue was absolutely epic, but the real magic of the venue lies in the woolshed reception area, such a spacious, well-thought-out layout that was lit to perfection with soft, warm, ambient lighting, allowing me to go flash-free and for guests to be completely present in the evening without flashes popping off all over the place. The dance floor was big and perfect, and I just can’t say enough things about the place. No wonder they win the ABIA Awards every year!
Eloise and Michael, thank you so much for having me on board and inviting me into your day, I had an absolute blast hanging with you and your tribe.
