Luxe Dudley Wines Kangaroo Island Wedding // Margot and Nick

South Australia is overflowing with incredible wineries and wedding venues, but few are quite so spectacular as the remarkable Dudley Wines. Margot and Nick invited their nearest and dearest to join them at one of their favourite places in the world, Kangaroo Island, the place they got engaged. Everyone was treated to a remarkable celebration and some of the tastiest wines on the planet – the Dudley Cab Sav has always been a personal favourite.

Tell me about your The Beginning!

At the time, Margot was a KX trainer and Nick was running his Physio practice above the studio. They circulated amongst colleagues and some of the same friends, then clocked each other at a city running group. Margot thought Nick was a great runner, Nick thought Margot had a great smile. A very old profile picture ‘like’ exchange happened on Facebook, a DM conversation started and they organised their first date at Gin Long Canteen in North Adelaide.

It is still heavily debated as to who officially made the first move, but what we know for sure is that Margot sent the first DM and the rest is history.

When and where did you get engaged?

At Nick’s family holiday house on Island Beach. They took the dogs for a walk along the beach and Nick got down on one knee and the rest is history.

What style/theme have you chosen for your Wedding Day?

Stylish, elegant and minimal. Black tie dress code has been set for guests, so the hope is that is all feels luxe and chic on the day with an earthy twist being in a country setting.

What are you most looking forward to on the day?

Seeing Margot for the first time as she stands at the top of the aisle. Being surrounded by friends and family, laughing, eating, drinking, dancing and celebrating. We can’t wait to spend the day with our nearest and dearest in one of our favourite places in the world.

Top Tips!

Start planning earlier than you think, so you can enjoy the lead up. Remember getting married is a celebration and you should enjoy it. Things will go wrong and that is ok because not everything needs to be perfect.
