Adam and Jess’s wedding was a true celebration of love, family, and fun, set against the enchanting backdrop of the Adelaide Zoo. Surrounded by 75 close friends and family, as well as Adelaide’s finest menagerie, their day was nothing short of magical.
The ceremony itself was a beautiful fusion of elegance and whimsy. The vows were exchanged in the rotunda, a refuge from the general public (save and except for a handful of entitled people who thought it was okay to ignore the “private event” signs and involve themselves – but that’s another story!). There’s something pretty magical about getting hitched a few hundred metres away from a set of lions that would tear you to shreds if given half a chance.
It’s fair to say Jess is a pretty big Swifty, as reflected in many of the details on the day, from the naming of the tables after Taylor songs, to the song lyrics on various signs (so it’s gonna be forever) and menus (at teatime everyone agrees). You can probably take a pretty good guess at a running theme on the dancefloor.
Adding a touching personal touch, we figured out that Adam and I share a set of great-great-grandparents. How did we figure that out, I hear you ask? Well, we also share a surname so that was a bit of a hint and a pretty good starting point.
We did some exploring around the zoo for photos, and managed to get fun shots with Weng Weng the impotent panda, and the giraffes who don’t have such memorable names or problematic sex lives.
Jess and Adam, thank you so much for having me on board, it was such a fun day to be part of.

Q & A
Tell me about your The Beginning!
We met through mutual friends a looooong time ago. One might say that we were 20. Time progressed and 18 years later we decided that perhaps the friendship was something more and the rest is history.
When and where did you get engaged?
22 January 2022 at Warrawong Animal Sanctuary. Adam had arranged for them to participate in an owl show (Jess’ favourite animal), so Jessica was expecting to see an owl when it’s carrier was opened Jessica immediately said “But…. Where is the owl????” and then noticed the ring box.
What style/theme have you chosen for your Wedding Day?
60’s classic – that is how it is just evolved with nods to Jessica’s favourite artist – Taylor Swift.
What are you most looking forward to on the day?
Spending a few hours with the ones that we most love and of course, becoming married.
Top Tips!
Do not suggest to your lovely bride-to-be that you think a wedding should cost around $7000.
Do not sweat the small stuff, its all about the people not things.
