Weddings don’t have to be big. In fact, when a wedding is stripped back to the bare essentials it has a way of simplifying everything and making it even more beautiful.
Case in point, Bec and James. One of my favourite weddings of 2014 and a wedding with just 27 guests and no bridal party.
The day started and ended at a beach house at Sellicks with a big balcony and ocean views. That’s where everyone got ready, and at around 10:30am we headed down to Port Willunga for a ceremony on the sand. Beach weddings are a pretty risky proposition, especially as you approach the middle part of the day, but the weather could not have been more perfect and after a beautiful ceremony conducted by Bec’s brother we all enjoyed some chilled out time on the beach and some photos.
We then returned to the house for some lunch (well, it was basically breakfast at midday, think bacon, eggs, pancakes etc) and a couple of speeches. It was relaxed, there was no chaos, it was simple and it was perfect.
