Country weddings are awesome.
I don’t know if it’s the fresh air, the lack of traffic, the landscape, the people or a combination of it all but every country wedding I’ve shot has been amazing. Stacey and Simon returned home to Mt Gambier to get married and it was a great decision. The ceremony was at the famous Wynns Coonawarra Estate which was a just a short drive down the road to the locals (62km seemed like a long way to this city slicker!), it was a beautiful place to get hitched and there were some great photo spots as well. On the drive there I was chuffed to discover a bunch of forests, I knew when we returned back down that same road a couple of hours later the sun would be in the perfect spot so I arranged with the drivers to stop off for a quick photo session when the time came.
As expected the reception had a lot of energy! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a groom that was so loved by his mates, I don’t know if this always happens at country weddings but Simon was treated like he was a genuine hero, it was brilliant! Another big highlight was Stacey and her dad cutting loose for the father daughter dance, a really sweet moment that resulted in some great photos.
I’m getting my next country wedding fix when I head to the Riverland in January next year.
I can’t wait.
