Whether you're wanting some kick ass photos for your save the date cards, or just looking for a bit of practice in front of the camera to calm the nerves before the big day, an engagement shoot is a super fun way of spending time with your partner and getting to know your photographer before the main event.
It's pretty much just hanging out for an hour or so as the sun goes down.
First step is the find a time and place. The best time for these photos is the hour before the sun goes down, the light is all soft and dreamy and the sky has those gorgeous sunset hues. The best place is where ever you like, somewhere special to the two of you, its all about capturing a connection between you both and we can do that in the backstreets of the CBD, at the beach, in a forest, in your backyard, literally anywhere.
Even London.
....... using the same techniques I use at weddings to put people at ease, draw out a genuine smile and make sure everyone has an incredibly fun experience.
I believe it's important for kids to see photos of themselves and their family on their walls at home, as a constant reminder that despite the chaos of every day life, family is still the most important thing.
I have designed these sessions to be quick and fun for everyone, whilst working meticulously to ensure we get gorgeous photos of everyone. For your kids, it will feel like a big game, for you, a chance to relax and be assured that there will be plenty of amazing pics for you to print and display. Maybe it's an elegant 8x10 in a black and white frame on your front hall table, a Christmas card for your grandparents and overseas friends, or a monster canvas print above your sofa.

Some light rain and brooding skies makes for magical photos.... heavy rain and muddy feet, not so much. If the weather is looking questionable I will be in touch on the day of shoot to come up with a plan. A reschedule may be required, if we can't find a suitable date your session fee will be refunded in full.
If the shoot cannot go ahead on account of sickness we will reschedule it to a new date. If we are unable to find a date that works for everyone your session fee will be refunded in full.
Short answer, no. Most of the couples whose weddings I shoot do not have an engagement shoot. Having said that, they are a great way to ease any pre-wedding nerves about the photos and have some practice in front of the camera, but whether or not we do an engagement shoot, you will still get a magical collection of natural wedding photos :)
Your gallery is connected to an online store that sells a range of beautiful prints, canvases, enlargements and more.
If you're keen to book in a shoot we will need to figure out a time and place to do it. The easiest way to arrange this is by scheduling a quick phone call (I know, I hate talking on the phone as much as the next person, it's just quicker and easier than a series of back and forth emails!)
The best time for the shoot is usually an hour or so before sunset. Sunday evenings are generally good as I'm less likely to have weddings, but Saturdays and weekdays sometimes work well too, particularly when it's not peak wedding season.
