An Epic End-of-Year Lloyd Brothers Wedding // Lauren and Daley

I love the period between Christmas and New Year, everyone’s in full relaxation mode, people often have the week off work, and the evenings are generally balmy, perfect for a few cold drinks – Lauren and Daley’s Lloyd Brother wedding ticked all those boxes. (I also met my wife at a friend’s wedding during this period many years ago so it’s got a special place in my heart.)

It was a warm one, the mercury maxing out in the high 39s, but Lauren, Daley and their gang stayed as cool as a batch of cucumbers. We had to be a bit flexible with photos on account of the heat, and while it was a bit warm during the afternoon once the sun went down and the outside dance floor was in full swing. You couldn’t have manufactured a better party environment if you tried. With Behind the Veil controlling the dancefloor from behind the decks and the sax man providing extra ambience (and a magnificent photo prop), this was an epic party to close out the year.

Lauren and Daley, thank you so much for having me on board, what a day!!

Some love stories start in glamorous places. Others kick off at the local footy club. Lauren and Daley are very much the second kind, and honestly, I bloody love it.

They both landed in Adelaide after moving from Ouyen and Melbourne and crossed paths through the local football club. From there, things moved pretty quickly. Their first date was a mid week pizza at Chicco Palms, which feels like a strong relationship test straight out of the gate. I am told Lauren has not been out on a mid week night since, so clearly it set a precedent.

Daley proposed early June 2024, stopping roadside after dinner at the Scenic Hotel to grab some BTS cupcakes. Romantic, unexpected, and very them. Sometimes the best moments are the unplanned ones, and this one definitely landed.

Their wedding day style was clean and confident. Black and white, modern, simple and elegant. No fuss, no fluff, just a sharp look and a room full of people who mattered. It was all about getting married to their best friend and then celebrating with their favourite humans in one space. That was the priority, and it showed.

Their top tip is one every couple should pin to the fridge. When planning starts to feel frustrating or overwhelming, remember it is all meant to be fun. Strip it back, breathe, and enjoy the ride.

A cracking couple, a clear vision, and a day that felt relaxed from start to finish. Exactly how it should be.
