Some weddings just glide, and Lilian and Lindsay’s day at K1 Wines was exactly that. A warm, easy afternoon, a lake that looked like it was pulled straight from a postcard, and a bunch of very happy humans ready for a proper garden party. The whole place had that effortless charm that makes everything feel even better.
They met at a Friday night work social while they were both at KPMG in Adelaide. A few casual coffee catch ups later and things were ticking along nicely. Eventually, their first real date was ramen at Black Dog Gallery in the eastern suburbs, which is absolutely right in my wheelhouse. Anyone who starts their relationship over noodles is destined for good things in my book.
Lindsay popped the big question in the privacy of their new home in Sydney. They had just wrapped up a long search and a renovation journey, so it was already a huge chapter for them. He had just flown back from a solo trip to Japan too, ring in hand, ready to lock things in. Honestly, it’s hard to beat that sort of timing.
A Garden Party Done Right
The wedding itself was exactly what they had hoped for. A garden party vibe, soft pastels, light summer colours, and a focus on all the good stuff. Food, drinks and the kind of atmosphere where everyone can settle in and enjoy the afternoon. And of course, it did not hurt that the weather played along and the whole place felt designed for a celebration.
What they were most excited for was simple. They wanted a big day full of their closest people, plenty of laughs and the joy of marrying their best friend. Naturally, that energy carried through every part of the afternoon.
Their advice for couples is spot on. Book your vendors early so the lead up is calm and not a last minute scramble. Most importantly, do not lose sleep over the tiny details because at the end of the day your loved ones are there to see you get married and have a good time.
It was an incredible day with two cracking people. A relaxed, colourful, summer afternoon done just right.
