There’s nothing more South Australian than getting married in Rundle Mall, and unless you want to compete with the Hare Krishnas and the bikie flautist your best option is the Hotel Richmond. This is exactly what Loren and Dylan decided to do and what a day it turned out to be!
The guys got ready at Loren and Dylan’s place, and after we’d taken a few photos they launched into some Xbox (complete with some of the finest facial expressions I’ve ever seen). The girls on the other hand were getting ready at Loren’s parent’s place down on the Esplanade – literally over the road from the ocean. With plenty of natural light streaming through the windows and bunch of happy laughing bridesmaids my job couldn’t have been easier.
This was the first wedding I’d been to at Hotel Richmond and I was really impressed with how good it all looked. One of the many highights was the best man launching into a rap as part of his wedding speech, I’m not sure it was even planed (?) but it rated extremely high on the comedy scale. Another highlight was beaming my surprise on-the-night slideshow of the day’s photos through a dozen or more plasmas and projectors through the hotel during the cocktail reception, it’s great for people to enjoy photos right after they’re taken instead of having to wait far too long for their busy photographer to blog the wedding (guilty as charged!).
