The vast majority of my work is weddings so when I get the opportunity to do something different I love it! We headed down to Victor Harbor for this shoot as that’s where the Clark’s spend a lot of family time and it has a special place in their hearts.
When I take family portraits (or any photos really) I want them to not only be beautiful to look at but to trigger a special memory when they’re viewed years down the track. I love taking photos of kids and families enjoying themselves in an activity they would be doing even if I wasn’t there. Looking back years from now I’d like to think that a photo of muddy child jumping into a puddle out the front of their holiday house will produce a bigger smile than a studio shot of the child playing with toys that aren’t even his.
Also, there’s more chance of finding a van selling hot donuts when you’re on location than in the studio 🙂
