12 months in 2 minutes

I used to be good at blogging.

I started the blog back in 2008 and was posting a new entry every couple of weeks, the next year I cranked up the output to nearly 1 post week and I kept up that pace for about 3 years. In 2011 I had 42 posts for the year but in 2012 the wheels started falling off and that number dipped down to 17. The only way is up from there, right? Wrong. In 2013 I managed a mere 5 blog posts.

But here’s the thing. From the outside looking in it may appear as though things were getting increasingly quieter on the photography front when in reality the exact opposite was occurring. 5 years ago I spent my time writing about photography, last year I spent my time doing photography.  In 2010 I was blogging about spiders in my house and weekends in victor whereas in 2013 I wasn’t blogging about shooting a wedding most weekends because I was, well, shooting a wedding most weekends, and editing photos, and designing albums, and meeting couples, and doing my taxes and about a million other things that consume the time of any small business owner.

I’ve also transferred most of my photo sharing to my Facebook Business Page so that’s taken some of the wind out of my blogging sails.

It’s now 2014, everyone is busy, attention spans are at an all time low so what I’ve done is quickly gone through each of the 40 weddings I photographed in 2013 and selected 2 of my favourite photos. I didn’t spend long on the decision making process, it was a snap judgement. I then organised them into a roughly chronological order of how a typical wedding day runs (photos of the guys getting ready, then the girls, then the wedding etc etc) and put it all together into a 2 minute slideshow.

I call it 12 months in 2 minutes and I hope you like it.

If you can you should set it to HD and watch in full screen.

I’m really not sure what 2014 will bring on the blog front, if you’re keen to follow my work then Facebook is probably the best place to do that at the moment but you never know when I might pop up here again….
