National Wine Centre Wedding // Ingrid and Peter

Their Day at the Wine Centre

Ingrid and Peter picked the Town Hall Meeting Hall for thier ceremony, and the National Wine Centre for their reception, and honestly, from the moment I walked in, it all felt spot on. The venue looked incredible, and the vibe was relaxed in that classic “everyone’s just happy to be here” kind of way.

These two actually knew of each other for years before anything happened. Uni circles, mutual friends, the usual Adelaide crossover. But they’d never actually met until Peter decided to shoot his shot online and ask Ingrid out. From there, their first date was a Wednesday night at Nest, smack in the middle of a 40-degree day, both of them sweaty and wrecked from summer jobs. Still, it didn’t matter. Dinner was brilliant and they’ve been best mates ever since.

The Proposal & The Wedding Day

Fast forward to April 2024 and Peter had a plan. He took Ingrid to Etica for pizza and drinks and kept it all low-key, even though she was exhausted and basically one stretch away from cancelling. Meanwhile, the real magic was waiting at home. Peter had roped in his sister across the road to turn the living room into a candle-lit tunnel of romance. However, Ingrid got distracted in the front yard picking up the neighbour kid’s stray balls and Peter was quietly losing his mind trying to get her inside. Eventually, once she finally made it through the door, he proposed. Simple, beautiful, and very them.

The wedding itself didn’t lean into any strict theme. Ingrid just wanted the whole thing to feel polished and lovely, and it did. Guests in formal attire, loads of flowers, bridesmaids in baby pink, soft green touches for the reception. It all came together in a way that felt effortless.

What they were most excited for was pretty straightforward. Ingrid couldn’t wait to celebrate with everyone after the ceremony and Peter was right there with her. You could feel that energy all day. No fussing, no stress, just two people ready to have a good time with their favourite humans.

If you’re planning your own wedding, take it from Ingrid. Get a wedding planner. The stress budget doesn’t always match the actual budget and honestly, having someone else carry the load can be a game changer.

All in all, it was an incredible day with two incredibly genuine people. A real joy to photograph and a cracker of a celebration from start to finish.
