The weather gods are taking the piss, surely. 40 degrees in Autumn?
It’s a bit hard to tell from the photos just how hot it was, but if you look closely there are signs.

Like this water bottle flying across the barn towards waiting arms.

And Stephanie’s dad, sending the A/C directly into his regions.

Let’s not forget the subtle use of personal fanning devices to keep the heat at bay.
But the heat was only a small part of the day. The much bigger part was Steph, Cam and everyone they love getting together to celebrate, laugh, cry and dance the night away.

The story in words
This past Saturday, I had the privilege of capturing the beautiful wedding of Stephanie and Cameron, two people whose love story started in the most unexpected of places—a house party. Their journey from playful banter to the altar is one for the books, and their wedding day was a perfect reflection of their personalities and the love they share. Let’s dive into their heartwarming story, the wedding day details, and the stunning moments that made it all unforgettable.
The Beginning: A House Party, Mario Kart & Shoelaces
Stephanie and Cameron’s story began in the most casual of settings—at a house party where everyone was engrossed in a game of Mario Kart. It was there, amidst the laughter and competition, that they sat next to each other. The spark between them ignited with a simple compliment about Stephanie’s shoes, which quickly turned into playful teasing about Cameron’s own footwear. The fun escalated, and soon their shoelaces were tied together, setting the stage for what would be the start of a beautiful journey.
After a few days of silence following the party, fate took its course when Stephanie nervously sent Cameron a friend request on Facebook. It was quickly un-done, but the second time around, Stephanie gathered her courage. Cameron, happy to see the message, accepted and said hello. A chat soon blossomed, and before they knew it, a first date was set: dinner, bowling, and a freezing cold walk along the jetty while enjoying ice cream.
The Proposal: A Reenactment of the First Date
After the 6th reenactment of their first date, it was finally time for Cameron to take the next step. He proposed in the comfort of their home, with a touch of quirky charm. A corflute sign (a cute airport tradition they shared) and a bouquet of flowers held up by Manny the mannequin made for a sweet and intimate proposal. It was a moment full of love, laughter, and joy, setting the stage for the next chapter of their story—one that led to their stunning wedding day.
A Wedding Day Full of Love and Style
On their wedding day, Stephanie and Cameron’s love for each other and their shared vision for the day were truly evident. They chose a native outback style for their wedding theme, beautifully reflected in the colors and flower arrangements. Earthy tones, rustic details, and native florals created a warm, natural atmosphere, perfectly suited to their personalities.
The venue itself was a beautiful blend of nature and elegance, offering the ideal backdrop for a celebration of love.
The Best Part: The Celebration
For Stephanie and Cameron, the most anticipated part of their wedding day was the celebration with their closest family and friends. Surrounded by loved ones, they enjoyed a lively party, complete with a dance floor full of energy and laughter. Their guests truly let loose, and the couple couldn’t have been happier to share such an unforgettable night with the people who meant the most to them.
One of the highlights of the day was the impromptu mini-golf game that had everyone in high spirits. It was the perfect way to add some playful fun to the celebration, and it truly reflected Stephanie and Cameron’s easy-going and joyful nature.
Top Tips for Couples Planning Their Wedding
As seasoned wedding veterans (after 6 reenactments of their first date, after all), Stephanie and Cameron have some wise advice for other couples planning their big day: Have fun, do what suits you and your partner, and don’t let it get too stressful! It’s easy to get caught up in the details, but at the end of the day, what matters most is the love between the two of you and the joy of sharing that with your closest friends and family.
Final Thoughts
Stephanie and Cameron’s wedding was nothing short of magical. From their unique and playful love story to the stunning celebration, every moment was filled with love, laughter, and joy. As their wedding photographer, it was such a joy to witness the depth of their connection and the happiness they brought to each other’s lives. We wish them a lifetime of love, adventure, and plenty more mini-golf games!
Here’s to Stephanie and Cameron—thank you for allowing us to be part of your special day.
