I’ve got a soft spot for back yard weddings.
I got married in my own back yard and wouldn’t have it any other way – there’s a certain intimacy when you welcome people into your home that is hard to match elsewhere.
Likewise, I’ve also got a soft spot for Belair National Park. It’s where my wife and I take our kids to buy native plants for our garden, the kids love it, we love it, and the koalas and occasional emus we see while there just add to the magic.
When Meagan and Aaron got in touch about their wedding and told me some details it felt like the stars were aligning, I knew we would be on the same page. They took it to the next level though, Aaron took it upon himself to build a sweet deck in the backyard for the big day (and for many years to come), the wedding cake was a pile of donuts and they even got in a food truck to feed the masses.
It was everything a wedding should be, relaxed, full of magic, and dog-friendly.

Meagan shares her wedding anniversary with her grandparents, who got married 62 years ago and are still going strong. They’re the ones in the second photo from the top 🙂
