Adam’s first love was not Bec. It was Eleanor, his 1970 XW Ford Falcon. When he proposed he said there’s one condition about the wedding – “that I get to finish doing up my car so she can be in it!!”
True to his word Eleanor was finished for the wedding and Adam and boys rolled up to the church in her. Bec arrived in her Dad’s Jag which was also cool, I love weddings with a personal touch.
Colour was a big thing for Bec in the wedding. The bridesmaid’s dresses and shoes were always going to be colourful and the flowers for the wedding were the principal decoration so she wanted to have that mix of ‘hamptons chic’ with a burst of colour at the reception. Bec and Adam are both huge beach people and were very keen to have the reception as close to the beach as possible, they decided on The Deck at the Palais in Semaphore which is pretty much on the sand so it was the perfect choice. It also allowed us to duck out around sunset for a few quick photos on the sand in the gorgeous late evening light.
The highlight of the reception was an epic 10 minute breakdance battle between a couple of youngsters who I’d put at around 7 and 12 years of age. it was straight out of the Hollywood movie, the moves were getting more and more elaborate as things went on and ultimately it was decided that the only winner was breakdancing.
It was a day full of smiles and laughs and love which I was stoked to have the honor of documenting.
