When I arrived at Lauren and Bo’s house in Woodville to take photos of the guys getting ready I felt like I had arrived at a villa in Bali. Their backyard had all sorts of relaxed vibes, a sweet pool and exotic plant life that transported you to another time and place. As the day went on and I got the know Lauren and Bo better it all made sense, they are such a chilled out couple and the resort theme for their backyard is an extension of who they are.
This was the first wedding I’d shot at Maximilians in Verdun and it was brilliant. We were blessed with perfect weather for photos, cloudy but but bright, and the ceremony spot was just divine – vines and skies as far as the eye could see. Soon enough the reception was in full swing and the party was on. The DJ was the least wedding DJ I’d ever worked alongside and it was brilliant, the playlist was littered with classic R & B hits from the 90’s and I immersed myself in the good vibes as I roamed around the dancefloor executing my patented technique of dancing and taking photos concurrently. Yes, there were a few blurry ones then never saw the light of day, but there were also plenty that came off exactly as planned and really captured the spirit of things which is all I ever want to do.
