We started the day, like all good weddings should, with a game of beach cricket and a swim in the ocean. The problem was it was super windy and actually pretty chilly, a lot colder than we were expecting when we put the schedule together. Fortunately Tim and his men were up for anything and ignored the elements in the name of adventure.
I’ve mentioned before that one of the things I love about my job is being welcomed into family homes as brides and grooms prepare for their weddings. One of my favourite parts of this is looking at the photos on the walls of everyone from when they were kids, when I went to Tim’s parent’s place I discovered some awesome portraits from many years ago of Tim, his 2 brothers who were also groomsmen, and his sister. We were able to take these photos down off the wall with no trouble and create something new with them that turned out to be one of my favourite photos of the season.
Bree and the girls were full of laughs and smiles, it’s fair to say I didn’t have to work very hard to get a ton of natural happy moments recorded onto my memory cards. The girls got ready in 2 places, hair and makeup was done at Bree’s parent’s place in Walkerville while the dresses were out on and finishing touches made down at McLaren Vale closer to the wedding venue.
By the time the ceremony began the weather had cleared and conditions were perfect. This was the second wedding I’d shot at S C Pannell Wines in a month and on both occasions I was stoked at how everything worked out. Everyone was in great spirits, the speeches were hilarious and THERE WAS A MEAT RAFFLE!!!!
This wedding had it all (including some pretty incredible pork belly – delicious!).
