On the weekend I had the distinct pleasure of shooting the wedding of Alexis and Jeffrey, a lovely Malaysian couple who now call Australia home. I first met them in the lead up to my Borneo trip (Malaysia is one of the three countries that make up Borneo) so they were able to offer some great tips having traveled there themselves, and I have them to thank for recommending the Kapalai dive resort – an incredible highlight of the trip.
Their wedding day was somewhat unconventional by Australian standards in that they decided to see each other prior to walking down the aisle. From an organisation and photographic point of view this is a great idea, it meant that they were able to get their photos done before the ceremony and just get on with enjoying the rest of the day with family and friends the minute the ceremony was over. Doing it this way allowed more time for photos and took the stress out of everything as we allocated plenty of time to get everything done.
The weather was perfect for a wedding, a cloudless 28 degrees, this provided a few challenges from a photographic point of view with a beach ceremony at 1pm but I relished the challenge! Last week’s scouting session proved very worthwhile and Nth Terrace is now my new favourite place to take photos. I’m super happy with the photos, Alexis and Jeffrey, I hope you are too!
LOVE the symmetry in this shot.
I’ll be putting some more photos from the day on my facebook page in the not too distant future, if you’re interested in seeing them why not “like” my page so they pop up right on your news feed when they they’re up.
