Yesterday I returned from a weekend away in Victor Harbor. For those not familiar with the region Victor is to Adelaide what Brighton is to London, a beach side destination about an hour out of town. Except it’s different. If you replace Brighton’s rocky beach with nice natural sand, a tacky chav-filled jetty with a quiet main street and perennial cold weather with beautiful warm summer days you’re getting close. There’s also an absence of Norman Jay and that boxer, you know the guy I’m talking about. It’s normally about 5-10 degrees cooler in Victor than in Adelaide, which is just about perfect when Adelaide is melting in the peak of summer, although it did get up to 36 in Victor in Saturday and I’m pretty sure someone would have told me if it was 46 in Adelaide.
I didn’t take loads of photos while I was down there, only on a couple of shortish walks, and I was often shooting in harsh sunlight which isn’t great for photography as we all know. So with the quality control disclaimers out of the way I present you with some pics from the most perfectly relaxing weekend imaginable.
(perfect way to finish a walk around Granite Island!)
(perfect way to finish the day!)
(remote control gliders – looked like a lot of fun)
